The Campus A5 notebook by Kokuyo is available in various colors. There are also subdued colors like black and gray available at this time. These notebooks are aesthetically pleasing and very handy.
The notebook is a standard A5 size. Each page has a header space at the top. There is provision made for a page or reference number there as well as the date. If you want to refer to a previous or future page or section, you can do so.
The pages are an 8mm rule with dotted lines. This feature can assist with language practice as well. The uniform spacing is ideal when practicing certain languages. This same spacing helps with scale and adding depth to drawings as well.
The spine of the notebook is cloth bound. This helps with the ease with which the notebook lays flat. If you want to create a two page spread, the lay flat binding helps significantly with this layout. This design is helpful for large scale drawings, mapping out ideas and timelines.
The paper is 70gsm. This makes it fountain pen friendly. In my experience, this paper takes fountain pen ink very well with a minimal amount of ghosting. I have not experienced any bleed through with this paper either. The Tombow Calligraphy pen shows the most ghosting with this paper of the inks and pens that I use frequently. However, even with the ghosting there is still no bleed through. The fountain pens performed beautifully. These are what I usually write with in these notebooks.
The Campus notebook has 40 pages so it lasts for quite a while, without being bulky. This, of course, is subjective and will depend on your intended use of the notebook. There is a double spaced dark blue line at the top. Another dark blue line is at the bottom of the page. These together act as the header and the footer. The bulk of the lines have a light gray color. This allows for both drawings and writing to not be overpowered by the lines.
