A Cozy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time that we spend with family. We gather together and have meals and conversations with our loved ones. We’re all aware of the challenges that we’ll face while trying to connect with loved ones not in our immediate families this holiday season.

We plan to have a fairly normal Thanksgiving. We will make meals that will last for a few days or at least through the weekend. Most of the connections to our extended family will be made with phone calls and Zoom chats.

Besides these calls and chats, we will also spend time with our family watching movies or one season of a particular show. This will be a bit harder to do, mainly because we will need to come to a consensus. This will be easier if it’s a movie or show that we’ve all watched. That way it’s more a time of sharing thoughts and conversation rather than just watching the same thing at the same time.

Some of my most memorable moments seem to center around a meal. It can be as simple as trying new foods together. I love sitting with a cup of tea or hot chocolate with dessert and having a chat. I can still do this!!

After a meal, we seem to always end up outside. We’ll walk around and check out the flowers, plants and trees. This year, we’ll have little tours, as the weather allows, with our family. These types of activities that involve video chats are a nice way to spend time together as well.
