My bullet journal is one of my primary daily planners and is housed in a Rhodia goalbook. I love writing things down with pops of colour interspersed throughout my planner.
There are different elements that you can use to decorate your planner. One way that you can easily do this is to change your handwriting. Different types and sizes of handwriting can be mixed together to draw the eye. This method can be used to highlight important notes or appointments in your planner. Colour may be added by using a coloured pen, but really just by differing the size of your handwriting in any area can serve to draw the eye.
Washi tape is a repositionable decorative tape that adds colour to any page. This tape can be moved around fairly easily depending on your paper weight making it the perfect addition for us planner addicts. This tape can be functional as well when used to cover anything that you don’t want to be seen. Washi tape is available in a wide range from solid colours to the most imaginative scenes and colour combinations.
Highlighters can be used to mark off items as they are completed. They can also serve to quickly draw the eye to your most important tasks and activities. Using highlighters is a great way to marry both the functional and decorative elements.
Stickers are another option when adding touches of colour to your planner. Stickers come in all different sizes and types. They can be used to highlight text, add text or add a swath of colour to any area.
Of course, none of these elements have to be used alone. All or just a few of them can be employed to add life to any planner spread.
